Have you ever wonder? why is it that the California Roll, which is a japanese food, named after another country. Wouldnt it make better sense if its called japan roll instead?
And Im been browsing Youtube whole night on food, cause im hungry. First i browsed 'fast food makes peoplke fat". trying to convinced myself not to get supper. and then i linked to videos like KFC and mcdonald food, am particularly attracted to KFC's famous bowl, its a mixture of mashed potatoes, corn, fried chicken popcorn, gravy, and cheese. all in one plate. everyone in utube says it taste fcking delicious! Looks like this.
and then i linked to some videos on fried food, kfc cruelty, endangered animals, clone dogs, some mtv, and back to fried food. You know how youtube can lead you out of the box. and guess what. i din know people like deep fried food so much that they would deep fried anything!
like oreo. deep fried and sprinkled with sugar. wtf! why would anyone wanna deep fried oreo?
and you know twinkies, which are famous in the angmoh places.

and the thing is, they are not experiments, they are sold in restaurants. maybe its like fried ice cream. I mean, fried ice cream are pretty common now here, in where i live. And those fried choc bars are just common there.
Its kinda like tempura. My japanese tutor back in kuching once told us that when its autumn in japan, when maple leaves start falling from trees, there are actually people who pick them up from the street and deep fry them. not cheap i heard. hah! clever japanese brains!!

HAHA, pretty amusing to me. A little exposure. oh ya! and i also came across a youtube video where they fried teddy bears. Real soft toy, but thats not commercially sold of course. and people fry big mac too! almost everything.
so i guess anything deep fried will taste better and ppl will grow fatter and fatter. maybe there'll soon be deep fried chewing gum, deep fried kitten. who knows? they might alr exist.
anyways all those youtube browsing took up whole night. i forgot what time i started browsing but its 6am now. luckily theres only one lecture later. which is most probably gonna be the lecturer introducing himself and chit chating with us. Typical week one.

Update: I did my research, and found the answer to my california roll question. Apparently, the rolled sushi was invented in California by an enterprising Japanese sushi chef in the early 1970s. :)
